Planning for Research
- Advise with the Ideation, development and refinement of research questions; guide the translation of a perceived clinical need or opportunity for advancement into a researchable question
- Guide the conduct of an exhaustive literature search/compilation of relevant literature
- Help in defining and synthesizing the current state of knowledge
Proposal development/Funding strategies
- Guide and assist in the strategic design of the envisioned research program; advise on research design, organization and plan of conduct
- Recommend staffing needs/required expertise to conduct the research; assist in; budget preparation
- Assist in surfacing and Identifying extramural/intramural funding opportunities; Review funded research projects with similar themes
- Assist with regulatory obligations of the proposed research including creation of informed consent documents if needed
Conducting the Research
- Suggest strategies for recruitment of study subjects and/or sources if data
- Assist in a strategy for deriving data from electronic medical records
- Recommend data collection and management strategies
- Consult on data analysis strategy/drawing conclusions
Communicating the Research Results:
- Assist as needed in abstract preparation/review
- Assist as needed in manuscript preparation and/or review and editing as well as Journal selection/submission strategies
- Assist in poster design and preparation strategies
- Assist in oral presentation strategies
Organizational Support
- Evaluate and recommend optimal staffing needs for effective research administration
- Advise on organizational management of regulatory issues related to clinical research including human subjects research (IRBs) and other clinical research compliance-related research issues
